On Safari With Curtis 4 August 2015

4 August 2015

Our first highlight, on a fairly quiet morning, was a large herd of buffalo which we found hanging around by the side of the road. But as always when one animal makes a move the whole herd follows and so we just sat and enjoyed the continuous sight and sounds of hundreds of buffalo crossing the road.

Our second highlight was after a tip off from a fellow guide about a lion. When we arrived we found it lying flat on the rocks but it then got up walked along the top of the rock giving us a much better look.

As it jumped down off the rock we tried to follow its path but no luck, however we did enjoy it when the lion started to roar.

We also saw sable, Impala, steenbok, common duiker, hippo and warthog and vervet monkeys at the golf course, giraffe, zebra, leopard, waterbuck, kudu, white rhino and elephants.

Birds included southern ground hornbill, Grey heron, grey headed hornbill, crested barbet and lilac breasted roller.
