Today was a good day. We were blown away by the amount of special sightings we had.

From a baby baboon hanging onto his moms belly while another sibling tries to steel him away. To two giraffes trying to mate and help the population grow.

Some mongoose were starting to become active from their termite mounds and having to make peace with sharing it with Large Plated Lizards.

The 2 cheetahs lying asleep under a sickle bush was a biiig bonus for our morning drive. Which we were very grateful for.

A big herd of buffalos also came down to a nearby dam to drink water later on and take a swim.

Not only did the buffalos enjoy the water in the heat of the day but also 2 male elephants were climbing on top of one another in Nyamundwa dam.

Today we had to say goodbye to our two Finnish Guests after yet a lovely game drive. Having seen a male lion lying next to the road and later Giraffes crossing the road.

A few hyenas also came to sniff our bumper and a elephant came to show us his size and remind us to have a healthy amount of respect for him.

My highlight was three male elephants trying to all squeeze themselves under one tree and pushing and shoving to fit.

Being our last morning together with my last remaining guests we still saw a few new species.

One being 2 klipspringers on a rocky outcrop eating from a marula and followed by a few reedbuck grazing in-between zebras.

A sable also walked next to a stream in the morning light.

Followed by a baby giraffe whom was sure he is a impala socializing between the herd.

As always it tough to say goodbye to Sebastian and Manuel after laughing and spending allot of time together. But all fun things need to come to an end.

After picking up and the checking my guests from France and Finland into our camp.

We set off on our first afternoon game drive. It could not have gone better.

Our highlight was the male leopard that was climbing down a hill and then crossed the road right in front of us in the road.

Soon after we had a big herd of elephants crossing the road and a few kilometers later buffalos blocking our way.

Ending our drive with a family of zebras heading to their resting place.

Our morning drive went even better than the first finding a male lion fast asleep on his back warming his belly in the soft sun.

Later there were 2 beautiful big male rhinos grazing along the road with oxpeckers on their backs.

My day was made after I got my 2nd pair of black cuckooshrike's jumping around and a grey headed gull sipping water.

We had twice the chance to spend a lot of time with a clan of hyenas with babies sniffing the car and suckling from the mom.

On our way out there was a Male Sable antelope crossing the road.

This 1 day safari was not only a new one for my guests but it was the first time for me to see this area of the park and to have such a big group of fun Netherlanders and got to conduct my game drive in both Dutch and English.

We started our safari from Phalaborwa gate after I picked them up at their lodge.

Our highlights of this day was starting out with some wild dogs on a mission next to the road hoping to make a early morning kill...

Later we spent time with Journeys and Journeys of giraffes. Focusing on the raptors we saw a few from a Whalbergs eagles to a Tawny eagle, Martial eagle and a Yellow billed kites scavenging. And the best and very rare to see 2 Secretary birds.

The following day I was happy to take the same group of enthusiastic guests on a drive heading from phalaborwa to letaba camp.

Patiently waiting in the road after we spotted a big herd of buffalos in the distance, we could see them crossing the road by the hundreds. Counting close to a thousand.

Finally we came across a lioness lying on a sand bank only to discover her teenage cubs eating the last of a buffalo they caught.

Our last animal as we exited the park was a few dassies climbing trees on a hill getting to the fruit.

After an early breakfast we headed out for our morning drive. It was fairly cool, with hazy and breezy conditions leading to some early cloud build-up.

It turned out to be a good morning for the herbivores as we found several herds of Zebra, Buffalo and a few Giraffe throughout the course of the morning.

We encountered a fairly large Elephant breeding herd early on and some of the young bulls were particularly playful! One of them definitely had a point to prove, as first he was trunk-tussling with another young male of roughly the same age. After a while of playfully pushing and shoving each other around, the instigator decided to move his attentions to an older, larger male, poking him with his tusks to aggravate the larger bull. The older one quickly got his point across as he just pushed the youngster back about 10 yards in reverse, before turning his attentions back to the tree he was feeding on before being so rudely interrupted!

It was also a surprisingly good morning for White Rhino sightings, as they don't really enjoy cool and windy conditions! We found several, including one group of 6 grazing on an open plain, as well as 2 young males right next to the roadside and a more distant sighting of a mother and calf combination.

The sun eventually came through in earnest, just in time for our guests to enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the pool before the late afternoon Sundowner drive!
