On Safari With Mark 28/29 July 2015

28 July 2015

On our arrival at Phabeni gate we checked in and took a slow drive towards our overnight camp Skukuza.

General game was spotted as follows: Impala, Kudu, Zebra, Waterbuck,Warthog, Giraffe, Steenbok, Common duiker, Rhino, Buffalo.

The highlight of the drive had to be with a herd of elephant that crossed the road right in front of us. It was an awesome sighting as many elephants of different ages and sizes crossed. Guests love seeing the larges land mammal.

29 July 2015

We set out along the Sabi river towards Lower Sabi for breakfast. Initially rather quiet however this changed just before arriving for breakfast where within 2kms of each other we had our two highlights for the day.

Firstly we spotted 6 lioness and 7 Cubs all enjoying the morning sun. Cubs playing together and pretending to stalk mom and others. Great to spend so much time with them, eventually we moved on as our breakfast awaited.

No sooner had we moved on and out walks a Male Cheetah right in front of our car.

This to was a fantastic sighting as it headed in the same direction as ourselves.

Guests once again were able to get a good look as well as fantastic photos of this brilliant animal.

General animals spotted:

Rhino, buffalo, elephant, hippos, crocodiles, waterbuck, Impala, bushbuck, vervet monkeys, Baboons, giraffe, kudu, warthog, steenbok, common duiker and (14) more lions.
