On Safari With Karen 12 July 2015

12 July 2015

On our first day we did a small drive till we arrived at Skukuza. On the way we saw this bad ass massive warthog. He was just standing in the shade staring at us. His tusks were enormous! And so was his body size. We were quite stunned at the size of him.

Our second highlight was seeing our first elephant. This bull was wondering around the riverbed looking for something to eat. After a couple of mouthfuls he actually started digging in the sand. Maybe for some water, but we didn't have a perfect view. Later on we also saw a herd of elephants in the distance.

Other interesting sightings: zebras, herd of buffalo, kudus, waterbuck, hippos, crocodiles, terrapins, herd of blue wildebeest, a lone baboon and impalas.

Birds: Cape glossy starling, yellow-billed hornbill, Egyptian geese, African darter and magpie shrike.
