On Safari With Mark 31 -1 June 2015

31 May 2015

Once I had collected my new guests we set off for camp as they were on the sundown safari. No sooner had they started the drive and their luck was in, with great buffalo sightings, Giraffe and Kudu too.

Only once the sun had set did the real treat happen. Driving down the road my guests spotted 2 leopards walking down the road and as they were the only car in the area, had this magnificent sighting all to themselves for 30min. Great start to a safari and a fantastic end to the sundowner.

After breakfast we headed out once the sun was up and starting to warm things up. Many different sightings during our morning drive with excellent elephant, giraffe and zebra sightings crossing the road in front of us.

As our afternoon drive came to an end we had a fantastic time with a herd of 30+ elephants on camp road. At one stage we had the entire herd circle around the car with 2 buffalo in between. Eventually these 2 decided it was to tight for comfort and took the only gap between us and the elephants and ran into the bushes. This did allow for a space for ourselves and so these giants could carry on with what they do best "eat".

Other animals: Impala, waterbuck, warthog, rhinos and many different specie of birds.

We wait and see what tomorrow holds for us.
