On Safari With Mark 19 -21 June 2015

19 - 20 June 2015

Although a little quiet up at Olifants, it's been great to find new species to add to the list.

Highlight for Claudia was to see a wild ostrich and this with a fantastic Male crossing over in front of us. Seemed he was ready to mate and on the lookout for some female. We scanned the area but no luck.

Further highlight was the 6 lioness that killed a blue wildebeest in a river bed and lay there eating it. Amazing to see 6 bloodied faces looking at us as though to say don't touch.

General animal include: giraffe, warthog, zebra, steenbok, common duiker, waterbuck, kudu, Nyala's, bushbuck, rhino, buffalo, elephants, hippos and crocodiles.

With new guests on board let's see what tomorrow holds.

21 June 2015

This morning got off to a slow start as we drove around in search of a leopard that all wanted to see.

After breakfast we headed back towards skukuza and was lucky enough to see a male lion lying in the grass. While there we heard from some other tourists that there was 5 lioness down the road so we drove down there and found them all lying enjoying the midmorning sun.

After a short toilet break we headed down to the river and found a male leopard lying on the sand bank and after 1hr we left and returned to camp.

Other animals included: Impala, waterbuck, warthog, kudu, giraffe, buffalo, elephant, rhino, klipspringer, common duiker, steenbok, hippos and crocodiles

Let see what we get tomorrow before my first group of people leave us.
