Day 2 saw game viewing for the first 3 hours in intermittent rain.

However we had super Giraffe, Buffalo, W.Rhino and Elephant sightings!

The highlight for us unanimously was the 4 Southern Ground Hornbills chorus!

3 Adults had perched on a dead leadwood and were calling to a sub- adult on the ground nearby!

The vocals were incredible and created total interest like only this species can!

Eventually the sub adult joined the others and a huge greeting and preening session pursued!

Other species encountered today were Crocodile, Warthog, Leopard, Bushbuck, Impala, Kudu, Zebra, Spotted Hyena, Hippo, Water monitor.

After picking up my clients (Nancy and Bill) from Phalaborwa airport we set off for Mopani rest camp.

Great sightings of elephant bulls in river beds.

Our highlight for the afternoon must of being the Journey of 11 giraffe that seemed to pop out of the mopani veld just after Bill asked me if giraffe are seen here. This seemed to be the answer to him as many different sightings of these tall animals were seen on our way to camp.

Other animals: Impala, baboons, vervet monkeys, crocodile, warthog and hippo.

This afternoon we welcomed guests from USA to Kruger!

Although we only had an hour and half game drive to our hotel we spotted 11 mammal species and 12 bird species!

The highlight being our first sighting, which was 2 male Cheetahs on the hunt tightly next to each other!

At one stage they were no less than 20 m from us!

Other species seen were Kudu, Spotted Hyena, Buffalo , Impala, Elephant ,White Rhino, Impala, dwarf and slender Mongoose!

We are looking forward to a hearty meal at the Protea Kruger gate hotel!

Setting out at 8:20 am we weren’t expecting much in 2 hours!!!!

Well that’s what we thought! We picked up superb Buffalo and W.Rhino sightings.

For some reason I quickly drove up to PK flat rocks and there awaited our sighting of the trip!

All 3 Leopard cubs were out on the granite rocks! As we approached 2 moved into a thicket close to the road where there was visual of 1! It was truly amazing for Joyce and Joe!

On the way out we got 2 young Elephant bulls sparring just to add to the excitement of the short drive!!!

We say safe travels to the most extensively travelled couple iv ever met!
